THANKS A LOT for the DD

I'm a total sucker for fractals that look like architecture and architecture that looks like fractals. Here's a gorgeous example of this phenomenon! Reticle  by *theslider soars above the ordinary like a downtown highrise. Incredible lighting, beautiful blues and greens and touchable textures combine with clean lines for a look that is truly upper class. (Featured by NatalieKelsey)
Hi All,
I haven't written for a very long time!!!

I just wanted to tell you, my friends, that about 10 days ago I have been interviewed in a blog!!!

In April I took part in a Sharing Workshop where all the people had to share one of their passion's with all the others...can you guess what I talked about??? ;P

Well, I had about 20 minutes to share my fractal passion with a small group of people!!!
Most of them were photographers and I learnt many new things... but I'm happy they were much impressed about fractals (it was the first time they came to know fractals)!!!

And now...I want to share with you this interview where I talk about fractals!!!

The interview is in Italian (sorry )... and at the beginning there is a picture of me taken at the workshop with a Rolleiflex!!!

:D Click here and enjoy the post "A Fractal Artist" :D

MANY THANKS to :iconplatinus: who gave me the DD :thanks: :D

_______________________________________________________________________________________

During my UF Artistry Class by Janet Parke I was asked to choose one of my old work and describe the process which brought me to creating that particular image...well can you guess???...Yes you're right...I chose Supernova and here it is what I wrote:

This is a fractal I did last Summer. It has 11 layers (2 are masks) and the formula I used is only the basic Mandelbrot.
For each layer I tried different OCAs while the gradient is always the same with some transparencies.

At the beginning of this work, I tried in vain to find 2 interesting layers to start with, but I was getting nowhere.
After adding the third layer, I found out that the spiral on the left, reminded me of a backlit tunnel ventilation fan...so I started to explore the "fan" by unzooming a little bit...I soon realized that I had to move the spiral from the very center of the squared image I was working on. So I decided that the left side was much better.
Then I started adding some light beams and worked on their gradient to make them similar to electric discharges (white at the center and a blurred orange on the borders).

When I added the layer which created "the wall of the tunnel", I realized that the best way to underline the spiral movement was to move the spiral on the very left of the image.
Then, I cropped the image itself in order to change the aspect ratio to about 5:2. In this way the image had a more panoramic format which gave me a better view of the extending arms of the spiral.
In the end I wanted to add some noise because everything was too neat. So I chose a b/w layer (OCA = Orbit Traps, Trap Shape = Point) and I unzoomed a lot so that the b/w lines came closer and closer and then I used it as a masking layer.
By doing this the host layer was perfectly visible (due to the high frequency  of the b/w lines) and it was also present a "TV scan line effect" which added the noise I was looking for.

MANY THANKS AGAIN TO ALL MY WATCHERS FOR THEIR CONTINUOUS SUPPORT

Hello to everybody :D

During the last months I kept a really low profile (I hardly answered a few messages and posted NO :ashamed: Deviations).

First of all I would like to THANK ALL the people who :+fav:ed my works, commented and also :+devwatch:ed me!!!
My inbox is pretty full and I would like to thank everybody personally (hopefully! ;P)

During this period I have been very busy with my work...but above all I took Janet Parke's UF last course...wonderfully fantastic and time consuming as well.
I learnt a lot of new things but I still need a lot of practise.

I am very happy to be back again (at least a bit more present than I did lately :D :D :D)

And now let's go posting some new images!!!

Daisy my first DD

I am speechless

10 PRINT "Hello World"
20 GOTO Daisy

Today I got my very first DD and I AM SO HAPPY that I don't have words to THANK

This is the comment on my DD:

Daisy is a refreshingly sweet fractal with a lot of charm. The divided background, with simple lines and fresh, clean colors... allow the solitary stem to poke out with a sense of shyness and innocence. Simplicity really shines here!
The Suggester writes: "This is one of *theslider's best."

I am really honored, thanks :iconsophquest: for giving the DD
Thanks a lot :iconhadarniel: for suggesting
